The agronomic potential of Host-Induced Gene Silencing: mechanisms and efficacies

28 mai 2015

Sophia Antipolis - Inra PACA - Salle A010

Dans le cadre de l'animation scientifique de l'Institut Sophia Agrobiotech, Karl-Heinz Kogel, du Research Centre for BioSystems - Land Use and Nutrition - Justus Liebig University - Allemagne, invité par l'équipe IPO, nous présentera des travaux portant sur : "The agronomic potential of Host-Induced Gene Silencing: mechanisms and efficacies"

Summary

In this talk I will show data on the control of Fusarium diseases as well as aphids by Host-Induced Gene Silencing (HIGS). More recent experiments also show a potential for the use of small RNAs in non-transgenic application strategies which might open new avenues for plant protection.
